OBSESSED GARAGE

Freelance Project

2018 Redesgin

Project Role: Designer & Developer

My work with Obsessed Garage began with porting their existing site from their previous e-commerce platform over to Shopify. Matt Moreman had founded the Obsessed Garage brand to promote and sell his favorite automotive detailing and garage products, and as his business was rapidly growing, needed a better e-commerce platform to handle increased volume. My first project involved moving their product catalog over into Shopify's CMS, recreating existing pages in their Shopify template, as well as designing and custom coding a number of pages featuring Matt's car collection and garage history in HTML, CSS, and Shopify's Liquid language.

2020 Redesign

Project Role: Designer & Developer

As the Obsessed Garage brand continued to grow and Matt's team expanded to include in-house designers, I began working on fewer small projects and focusing effort on larger site redesigns as needs changed. In 2020, the site went through another redesign, where I essentially ported and recoded the template from the ground up onto a new, third party Shopify template that had more features, was more responsive, and improved page load speed across the board.

2022 Components

Project Role: Developer

The Obsessed Garage has exploded in the years I've helped work on their site, there's really no other way to put it. Their order and sales volumes are orders of magnitude larger than they were years ago, and Matt now has a full-fledged team to help run the site. Matt's team redesigned the site a third time in 2021, once again porting it to an even better, more efficient template, this time built with JSON in addition to Liquid. I have been brought in a few times since to help code components and pages that Matt's design team can't build within the confines of the template, or more advanced features that need to be dynamically coded using things like Liquid tags and variables rather than just HTML and CSS.
